Joio was established to produce original film and television. We are a creative company that innovates and collaborates to bring projects to the screen.

Joio travels.
Joio wants its work to be seen by as many people as possible and wants to secure a place for its work on as many screens as we can. We endeavour to find new ways of achieving the exhibition of our work and want our projects to travel internationally.
Joio experiments.
We work with broadcasters, distributors and film agencies, but we also have very good relationships with organisations such as National Theatre Wales and Wales Arts International that allow us to create work in innovative ways and deliver it in non-traditional contexts.
Joio likes to work.
A rough translation of “Joio” would be “enjoyment” and the spirit of enjoyment underlies our work. We not only want audiences to enjoy our productions but we also want creative people to enjoy the experience of working with this. We aim to support and empower the freelancers who work with Joio to be creative and make their best work without undue interference.
Joio received significant investment from Ffilm Cymru Wales in 2016 that is enabling the company to develop a slate of feature films. Joio is also developing a number of television drama and comedy projects. The work is developed for specific markets and audiences and strives to be innovative and distinctive.
